Assumption Day is a public holiday in Rwanda, known locally as Ijyanwa mu Ijuru rya Bikiramariya.
In 2026 it falls on Saturday 15 August, with a substitute day off on Monday 17 August; in 2027 on Sunday 15 August.
The date is fixed, so only the weekday changes from year to year.
